About
Ampelostrates sits on the mountainside of Koiliomeno in Zakynthos. Nothing here was built with funding plans or marketing roadmaps. We used what we knew—land, food, wine, craft—and kept going by trial, error, and persistence. The goal is simple: to work with the place, not to decorate it with ideas it never asked for.
Our wines come from selected high-altitude vineyards across the mountain zone of Zakynthos. Different plots, same hard limestone that dictates its own rules. Local varieties grow on their own roots, as they always have. We use field blending when the vineyard ecosystem calls for it, and single-site vinification when a plot deserves to speak alone. No formulas. Grapes grow and ferment according to the conditions of their land, and the wine reflects those conditions—without us trying to script a story for it.
Next to the vineyards, our small restaurant works as a space where food, art, sports, and agricultural life overlap naturally. No set experience, no staged authenticity. If you come, you become part of whatever is happening that day. If not, the place goes on just the same.
